Spousal and Child Support
Maryland Child Support Guidelines are designed to provide the child with the same level of parental income and relevant standard of living as before the parents got divorced.
For estimating an amount of child support for a particular case, Maryland follows the Income Shares Model. When calculating the amount of child support, the court must take into account such factors as both parents' income, the number of children, health insurance costs, alimony orders, and extraordinary medical expenses, if any.
Here’s how our process works.
